Live Music! Eric Peterson

Eric began his musical journey as a piano player and trumpeter. Eric got his first electric guitar at 12 and shifted all focus to that instrument. Eric played in his 8th grade jazz band and continued playing with friends throughout high school. As a freshman in college, Eric took his guitar playing much more seriously and took private lessons as well as joining a bluegrass ensemble through Swallow Hill music school. Eric played in a funk/rock trio later in college and was the house-band for several parties throughout Denver. In early 2001, Eric was a founding member of the band, Bagneo. Bagneo had great success in the Denver music scene from 2001 to 2004, releasing one studio album and two live albums, but never made it nationally. Eric later was a founding member of bands Tangleleg and Sierra Hotel, both of which played shows throughout Colorado. Eric started playing mandolin in 2017 and was invited to join the bluegrass band, Micrograss, as their mandolin player. Eric continues to play mandolin in Micrograss and also performs as a solo singer-songwriter. As a songwriter, Eric has won songwriting contests for his song “Havana Girl” in the blues category, and “Dark Sky” in the bluegrass category of the Colorado Music Business Organization’s annual songwriting contest. Eric continues to write original songs and adding cover songs to his repertoire regularly.
